Prairie Warrior Auction Set for March 3
In its previous 31 years, the annual Military Affairs Committee Prairie Warrior Auction has raised nearly $650,000.  The funds support many base organizations and functions designed to improve the morale of the men and women stationed at Minot AFB.  This includes expenses incurred by competition teams, squadron activities and annual awards banquets.  Funds also go to Operation Warmheart, a program for families in need.  This year-round program provides essentials such as food and clothing to needy service members and their families, as well as Thanksgiving baskets during the holdiay season.

The 32nd annual auction, set for Saturday, March 3, will be held in the Holiday Inn in Minot.   The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a preview of merchandise, refreshments and hors d'oeuvres, and opening of the silent auction.  The live auction will begin at 6:30 p.m.   There is a $25 charge at the door.

Every year, donations by area businesses and individuals make this event successful.  Items donated can be serious, humorous, unusual, imaginative or creative.  Any special instructions or information about the items, such as historical significance, should be included if applicable as the information may increase the items' value during bidding.  If an item is an intangible gift, such as a service or membership, a certificate or letter from the donor or business must be included.  The deadline for submitting items is February 23, 2018.  This will allow time to include your name and item in the printed auction program.

For further information about donating auction items, appropriate auction items, or to arrange for pick-up of auction items, please call the Chamber at 852-6000.

Please consider donating an item to be auctioned.  If your business does not have a particular item to donate, we encourage you to donate cash, as we pool that money together to put it toward the total dollar contribution to the Base.

For many years, Betty Fedorchak (Esoterica) has chaired this event and coordinated efforts to earn hundreds of thousands of dollars.  her tireless support is greatly appreciated by TEAM MINOT.    This year, those shoes have been filled by co-chairs Tom Rafferty (Verendrye Electric Cooperative) and Doug Hollingsworth (North Star Community Credit Union).  Special thanks to them for chairing this major event!
