Minot State University is the university of choice for more than 3,500 students each year. The third largest academic institution in the state, Minot State offers a wide range of study. The university has been consistently named one of “America’s Best Colleges” by U.S. News and World Report.
Founded in 1913, Minot State is made up of the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Education and Health Sciences and the Graduate School. It is a comprehensive public university and fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
The university offers more than 60 undergraduate degree programs, eight master’s programs, one specialist degree and many pre-professional programs. The university offers the state’s only undergraduate degrees in international business, addiction studies, broadcasting, multimedia studies, radiologic technology and arts administration. And it offers North Dakota’s only master’s degree in criminal justice. Among the newer programs, and fast becoming one of the most popular, is the accelerated master’s degree in management.

Those attending Minot State University will tell you the one-on-one relationship with instructors is vital. The average student to faculty ratio is 15 to 1, meaning instructors take a personal interest in students and their futures.
There is plenty for students to do when not studying. Extracurricular activities include everything from student government to theater, with more than 40 clubs and organizations from which to choose. The student activities committee regularly sponsors campus events such as dances, movie nights, and performances by hypnotists, comedians and bands.
